Terms for booking
Rentals take place per day/week. The vehicle and other equipment are rented only upon valid proof of identity. The vehicle shall be returned to the place where it was picked up during the rental place’s business hours.
Agreed-upon time that was not used will not be refunded. Damage to the vehicle, cart or other equipment is to be compensated by the renter according to the Swedish Association of Bicycles and Sport Goods Retailers’ price list.
If the product is not included in that price list, the supplier’s price list will be applied. Any labour costs will be compensated at a rate of SEK 150/hr.
The rental agency does not assume any responsibility whatsoever for personal injury or damage to clothing that might occur during the rental period.
For rental time exceeding the agreement, a late fee of SEK 50 per bicycle, tandem bicycle, cart and tent will be assessed in addition to the regular rental charge.
Personal information
When you fill out your personal information and place your order, this will be saved in Gotlands Cykeluthyrning AB’s database.
Gotlands Cykeluthyrning AB will not sell this information to other parties or misuse it in any way.
When you place your order, you automatically acknowledge that your information resides in our database according to Sweden’s Personal Information Act.
Theft insurance
If the bicycle, cart or other equipment should be stolen during the rental period, the full value of the stolen item is to be reimbursed by the renter.
If the renter purchases theft insurance at the time the item is picked up, he/she pays only the excess, or deductible, which is SEK 300 for a bicycle, SEK 500 for a tandem bicycle and SEK 300 for a bicycle cart, provided that the bicycle or bicycle cart, respectively, were locked when stolen and the renter gives Gotlands Cykeluthyrning the key to the lock and a copy of the theft report on file with the police.
If the bicycle, tandem bicycle or cart is recovered, it becomes the property of Gotlands Cykeluthyrning.
The renter never pays more than the applicable excess, or deductible, with theft insurance in force.
Theft insurance can be issued only at the time when the vehicles are picked up. Telephone number for the police in Visby: +46 (0)498-29 35 00. The police report should be made by the renter personally.
If there is no theft insurance or it does not apply and the bicycle/cart is found, instead of reimbursing the full value of the bicycle/cart, the renter may pay rent for the time the bicycle/cart was gone as well as any damages done to it, provided that an agreement is made between the renter and Gotlands Cykeluthyrning at the time of the theft report. In addition, the renter is obligated to pay SEK 200 for the bicycle or cart, respectively, to compensate for reward/retrieval costs.
Cancellation
Cancellation should be made as soon as possible by telephone to Gotlands Cykeluthyrning. Your reservation number or your personal information should be provided at that time.
